[ IMAGE: 14-featured.png ] alt: Roblox Plus subscription explained
In 2026 Roblox made its biggest subscription change in years: Roblox Plus replaced Roblox Premium. If you're wondering what Plus costs, what you get, how the new Robux transfers work and whether it's worth it, this guide covers everything.
Quick answer: Roblox Plus launched on April 30, 2026 for $4.99 per month (US). It gives 10% off in-game and avatar items (20% from your third consecutive month), free private servers in supported games, item trading and reselling, and the ability to send Robux to other players with no transaction fees. Optional bundles add monthly Robux.
What is Roblox Plus?
Roblox Plus is Roblox's subscription, introduced in an official announcement and available globally from April 30, 2026. It replaced Premium as the only subscription you can sign up for.
Roblox Plus benefits
| Benefit | What it means |
|---|---|
| Item discounts | 10% off in-game items and avatar items, rising to 20% starting in your third consecutive month |
| Private servers | Free, unlimited private servers in supported games |
| Robux transfers | Send Robux to other players with no transaction fees |
| Trading & selling | Trade and resell avatar items, and publish and sell items on the Marketplace |
| Profile badge | A Plus badge on your profile |
| Robux bundles | Optional Plus 500, Plus 1000 and Plus 2000 bundles add monthly Robux |
Good to know: Roblox covers the discount, so game creators still earn the same amount from each sale.
How Robux transfers work
This is the feature everyone's talking about, because for the first time players can officially send Robux to friends:
- Only Plus subscribers can send Robux. The person receiving doesn't need Plus.
- Users who are age-checked and 18+ can send and receive without parental approval.
- Younger users need parent or caregiver approval every time they send or receive.
- Roblox applies transfer limits, and safety rules may change by region.

What happened to Roblox Premium?
- New sign-ups for Premium ended when Plus launched.
- Existing Premium members kept their membership, monthly Robux and trading access.
- From May 30, 2026, Premium's 10% bonus on extra Robux purchases and the Premium logo were discontinued.
- Premium members could opt into a free one-month Plus trial.
Can I pay for Plus with a gift card?
Yes. Roblox gift card Credit can pay for memberships, as long as the Credit covers the full price. Memberships renew automatically until cancelled; if your Credit runs out, you'll be asked for another payment method. Learn more in Roblox Credit vs Robux.
Is Roblox Plus worth it?
Worth it if you…
- Spend Robux every month on items or game passes (the 10–20% discount adds up).
- Want to send Robux to friends or family.
- Play with a group and want private servers.
- Trade or sell avatar items.
Probably not worth it if you…
- Only buy Robux a few times a year.
- Mostly play free games.
Quick math: At 10% off, you'd need to spend about $50 worth of Robux on items each month (roughly 5,000 Robux) for the discount alone to cover the $4.99 price. At 20% off, it's about half that: around 2,500 Robux a month. So if you only count discounts, Plus pays for itself only for heavy spenders. Transfers, private servers and trading are what make it worthwhile for everyone else.
Plus vs just buying Robux
Plus doesn't change Robux bundle prices. Buying Robux on the website still gives the most Robux per dollar; see Robux Prices 2026. Plus makes what you buy with Robux cheaper.
